Education Loan EMI Calculator

Calculate your monthly education loan repayment, total interest and total repayment from your loan balance, rate and repayment period.

How it works

The calculator uses the monthly reducing-balance EMI formula: P × r ÷ [1 − (1 + r)⁻ⁿ]. P is the balance when repayment starts, r is the annual percentage rate ÷ 1,200, and n is the number of monthly payments. At 0% interest, the payment is P ÷ n. Interest accrued before repayment must already be included in the balance you enter.

An example

A ₹20,00,000 repayment balance at 10% annual interest over 10 years means 120 monthly instalments.

Monthly EMI: ₹26,430.15

Common questions

Does this calculate interest during my studies?

No. Enter the balance at the start of EMI repayment, including any interest your lender has added during your studies or moratorium.

What happens if my interest rate changes?

Recalculate using your outstanding balance, new rate and remaining repayment period. This estimate assumes the entered rate stays constant.
