SGPA to CGPA

Combine your semester SGPAs into a CGPA, weighted by credits or counted equally, the way your university does it.

How semester credits affect your CGPA

  1. Add your semesters

Enter each semester's SGPA on the 10-point scale, as it appears on your grade card.

  2. Choose the method

By credits multiplies each SGPA by its credits and divides by the total credits. Equally adds the SGPAs and divides by the number of semesters.

  3. Read the result

We round to two decimals. Copy SGPAs as recorded, without rounding them first.

An example

Semester 1: 8.2 with 22 credits. Semester 2: 7.6 with 24 credits. Semester 3: 8.0 with 24 credits.

CGPA 7.93

(180.4 + 182.4 + 192) ÷ 70 credits = 7.926, rounded to 7.93

Common questions

Which method does my university use?

Check your grade card or your university's regulations. Choose Equally only if every semester counts the same.

Why might my transcript show a slightly different CGPA?

If your university rounds each SGPA first, or uses unrounded grade points, the last decimal can differ.
